About

Bonjour, my name is Fanny, it is a very old English name that I love!

A bit of my story as a Graphic designer

I started out completing a bachelor of Graphic Design and a bachelor of Project management and visual communication, in Paris. I worked for 3 years as a graphic designer in print & multimedia for advertising agencies (FMCG brands), studio and “in-house” companies (Elle magazine, Gulli TV channel…).

Afterwards, I had a 2 year break, where I travelled the world and became a freelancer. I have explored different ways to live and work as a graphic designer, waitress, english teacher, farmer, housekeeper, receptionist or even bat caretaker in several countries. I enhanced my creativity, fell in love and started to build my dream life from there.

Succeeding these breathtaking experiences, I came back on track and found a design job in a small print & signs studio in Queensland where I spent 2 years.

My work at studio was very versatile as it was the only one in the area.

I had a large range of tasks from managing social media, websites, EDM, and animation, to creating a full visual identity for a new brand, organising signage for shops and photo shoots. I had to be creative, efficient, multitask and well organised due to a strict time schedule. I also experienced creating briefs and organising meetings for sharing my ideas to customers or marketers within my team and have sound knowledge of the creative process from concept to finished product.

When COVID-19 hit, my partner and I didn’t want to wait around, we decided to come out of this time stronger. Seeking better opportunity, we decided to return back the beautiful city of Sydney with all its glamour.

With a few years of experience in digital and my drive for continual improvement, I felt that I needed to update my skills to ensure efficiency and relevance with new technologies. I therefore completed a 2 months UX and UI elevate course, which has made me a better all round designer.

Having been back in Sydney for about 2 years now, I have worked in a design agency named Armstrong Studio. They specialise in stakeholder communication. They are working with well known Australian businesses (AMP, Woolworths, CBA, Endeavour group, QBE…). With them, I have structured my thinking and creativity. I have learnt how to design with precise guidelines, complicated briefs and strict attention to details. I am still learning every single day and I love it! I think that life would be tasteless if you have nothing else to know.

New challenges are what drives me. I love to find the most suitable concept and design for any kind of project. I can work very hard until I find the right solution!

During my free time I have taught myself how to make simple animations on After Effect, editing video on Premier Pro. I have also played a little bit with simple coding Html, CSS.

As a hobby, I love walking around with a camera and capturing the beauty of life! I also like to make illustrations that I sell in various markets over the weekend.

Design is more than a vocation for me, it is a passion, and I enjoy it every day.
